Our model is learner-centered and leaves a lot of room for learner autonomy and personalization. However, the goal of these objectives is to ensure that there are authentic learning experiences, outcomes, and learning goals at School of Humanity.

Self-paced Learning Activities in Middle School
Learners are expected to commit at least 20 hours a week when enrolled in our middle school. This includes 12 hours of workshops and 8 hours of asynchronous learning. Parents are responsible for overseeing their child’s participation in asynchronous learning.

Self-paced Learning Activities in High School
Learners are expected to commit at least 30 hours a week when enrolled in our high school. This includes 12 hours of workshops, 2 hours of extracurriculars of their choice, and 16 hours of self-pacing learning every week.
The model and curriculum are set up for learners to spend their self-paced learning time as such (please click on toggles to see specific requirements for each):
- 4 hours: Completing all required pre-sessions*
- 4 hours: Completing weekly post-sessions/assignments*
- 5 hours: Completing required skills units per term
- 2 hours: Personalized flourishing journey
- 1 hour: Reading exploration
*During the act phase, these 8 hours a week should be spent on projects/solutions.

There are deadlines and reminders in place to help learners stay on track. Please note that some of these are “recommended deadlines” while some are “hard deadlines”.
